Health & Safety Policy

Quantum Terminal Group (QTG) acknowledge and accepts the responsibilities placed on us by the relevant provision of the Ghanaian constitution for examples; Labour Act 2003(Act 651), NPA Act 2005(Act 691) FOSA 1970(Act 328) etc.

 

QTL is therefore committed to the effective management of the highest standards of health, safety and welfare for our employees, customers, suppliers, and visitors on its premises and work sites. We believe the success of our business now and the future depends upon the protection of our most valuable human resources and physical assets.

 

Management also considers the health, safety and welfare of staff to be of paramount importance and that a safe and healthy working environment is the prerequisite to achieving QTL’s stated goal to promote excellence in business.

 

These commitments will only be achieved with positive leadership, the provision of necessary resources, continuous pursuit of best industry practice in health and safety management and taking all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that statutory duties are met as a minimum standard. This Policy will ensure these through;

 

  • Utilizing HSSE as value in planning & execution of all QTL activities
  • The provision of the framework for setting and reviewing of HSSE objectives
  • Complying with laws, regulations, codes of practice and customer requirements wherever necessary.
  • QTL’s commitment to prevention of injury and ill health
  • Establishing safe and ergonomically working system to healthy working environment
  • Providing adequate resources, information training and supervision to enable employees and others “under our control or influence” to avoid hazards
  • Respect employees, encourage the employee’s participation in occupational Health, and ensure the employee's rights.
  • Communicate information openly with employees, customers, government, the public and the other related parties for improvement of Health & Safety performance.
  • Ensuring that subcontractors operate and maintain Management systems for HSSE needs of our safety requirement.
  • Continually measure, monitor and review HSSE performance in order to continually improve.
